Level Two Machinist
Specific Responsibilities:
Level 1 Machinist requirements have been met.

Able to evaluate product quality and identify offsets or tooling adjustments needed for quality products.

Knowledge of tool holders, Understanding of types and proper techniques needed to use holders and basic tooling. E.g. Inserts, Drills, Reamers, and end mills.

Able to locate and upload programs for downloading to machines.

Ability to turn, mill jaws for setup operations required for fixture needs.

Understanding in blue print reading, Basic understanding of geometric tolerance interpretation.

Basic experience with reading and understanding G and M code.

Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces using precision inspection tooling. E.g. OD/ID Mic. Bore gages, Indicators.

Sets-up mills and lathes by installing chucks and Vises. Able to indicate vises and chucks independently.

Ability to troubleshoot setups and tooling, used in the manufacturing process.

Notify supervision of maintenance problems.
Qualifications and Physical Demands:

High School Diploma

Machine shop courses either in high school or through skilled trade.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch.

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
