Level Five Machinist

Specific Responsibilities:

Level 1, 2, 3 & 4  Machinist requirements have been met.

 

  • Complete understanding of; Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Controls and Instrumentation, Supply Management, Tooling, Coordination, Inventory Control, Attention to Detail, and proper Judgment.

  • Ability to run multiple machines; Mills, Lathes, Boring Mills, Grinding operation.

  • Must have an expansive knowledge in Manufacturing and Design concepts.  

  • Must have a true understanding of manufacturing equipment, ability to understand function of equipment, Capabilities, understanding of equipment needed to achieve finish part sizes required. 

  • Understanding of all outsourcing requirements; Effects from Heat treat and plating operations, and how it effects the end part.    

  • Must have advance understanding of 3D Surfacing in Master Cam.  

  • Ability and understanding on SolidWorks software, used to assist with fixture design and manufacturing.

  • Ability to produce; Setup sheets, Operation drawings, Limited dimensions sheets.

  • Ability to assist Processing, able to clearly explain operations and steps needed to make a completed part.

  • High leadership skills, able to step into the role of supervision if called upon.

 

Qualifications and Physical Demands:

    

  • High School Diploma

  • Machine shop courses either in high school or through skilled trade or college.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch.

  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
